We have a sewer line...

Okay - we have the main sewer trunk installed.  I promised Harry that I wouldn't cover him up if he got into the ditch to see how deep it was (Sucker!).

They had to run a temporary water line from one of the rent houses so they could wet the dirt.  This also gave the plumbers an idea of the water pressure and flow that we will receive once our permanent line is installed.

And...Since Harry and the dogs were inspecting today's progress, he paused just long enough to see the perfect ending to the day...

Okay - We are officially a job site as of today (and Harry has a new office).  We've also doubled the number of bathrooms we have at the farm...

Foundation complete - come on concrete!

The foundation has been completed.  I think it's the prettiest foundation I've ever seen.  Kenny and his crew did an Awesome Job!

Bringing in the last of the dirt.

Thanks Kenny for doing such a great job for us.

Government Project??

Okay - should I be thinking that we may be working on a government project?  We paid someone to dig a hole for us, and now they're filling it back in with different dirt.  There's something fishy about this...

I think they call this "select fill"

Here is the fireplace

The equipment is ready to go

Here are the inspectors

The end to another awesome day.
Only God can create this scene - Thank You

Dirt is moving - Dust is flying!

Well....we've broken ground!  Dirt was moving yesterday at the Double D.  It's getting very exciting to actually be able to see how things are going to be laid out.  Kenny's worker was a one man show.
Just in case you were thinking, "man...it sure is foggy there".  Nope - just dust.

We had the chief inspector (me) checking out the progress.

I saw this as my opportunity to move a little dirt myself.  I'm all about saving money.

Oh...and Oncor was back.  I don't know why - but they were.

All in all - it was a good day.

Let There Be Light (or at least electricity)

Oncor came and ran wires today and set the transformer.  Now we're just waiting on a meter.

Also - as we stated in our earlier post, the cows loved the temporary pole that Craymon set for us.  This is the new "fortified" version of the temporary pole.

The dirt contractor asked that we pull the cows off the pasture so that they can stake the foundation and start moving dirt.  So...here's the stampede!

Temporary Power Pole

The temporary power pole went up today.  Craymon and his son worked in the 106 degree heat to set the pole.

                                            Here's the finished product.

We asked Craymon about the cows being a problem and he said they wouldn't knock it down.  I think they took that as a challenge...
                                            Jingle Bell taking his turn
Marshall and Snowflake tag teaming the braces.

Snowflake getting into position.  Stay tuned...
